Been sometime since I participated in a forum discussion and since I'm taking a huge step back from the game (personal matters to attend to), here are some observations on the game moving forward:
We can safely say that the timeline provided by Pix is rather fluid and I'm happy with that considering I never tank and Au/Ag is hard to come by.
WEAPONS:
I'm appreciative of updates 2.9 (Android) for the weapons buff that which subsequently diversified the game that much more. I however, am not a fan of update 3.0 as they seem to have brought back proximity detonation for rockets. I understand the reasons why as Tridents were rendered useless prior but still not a fan. That much is said, diversity in the game during 2.9 was imho at its peak/most enjoyable whilst the experience took a dip during the 3.0 update. I'm curious as to what are the implications of forcing such a rocket-heavy meta when the Dash bots arrive.
As for the new weapons in both client and test servers, it's safe to say that the Tempest has withstood the test of time and is a very viable yet balanced weapon. It's successful not merely in regards to dps/dpm but in the manner which encourages newer builds to be fielded e.g. Tempest/molot lances/leos; Temnages/Tarnages? etc. Kudos to Pix, credits where credit's due. There never was a time when my doubts were entirely erased and I was proven so wrong because of my assumptions.
The Flamethrower seems to show promise in terms of balance - rids both Physical/Ancile shields. That should be interesting to see although I'm skeptical about the graphics and how devices would handle the constant barrage of flames (would it lag badly?) given that WR is after all represented quite realistically.
As for the Scourge - there was an excellent discussion in the old forum debating whether it should be a Light instead. I'm inclined to agree with that poster's assessment which is nothing short of remarkable. *fingers crossed*
Conclusion: In the few months following the previous event, Pix has successfully shifted their position to dispel complaints about diversity/balance in the field (which is nice). It's important to note that they've also made Ag weapons extremely viable, that which are able to go toe-to-toe with Au weaponry and I know this decision didn't came easy to their wallets. So again, kudos Pix...from the bottom of my heart. I'm positive for things to come as long as they maintain said trajectory. My only concern is the numerous buffs that are ultimately the previous health-buff of bots moot.
BOTS:
Korean bots - Way too overpowered from TS. My experience of medium weapon slots are that they are key to winning matches. Look at the most popular bots in TT: Griffs/Rhinos/Lances/Galas etc. Don't have to be a genius to suspect the +15% increment in Tarans were implemented to anticipate the Dash's arrival. The gears are already spinning (3D model is up; skin texture has been mapped; coding's done) and nothing anyone says would deter their release but I hope Pix would at the very least consider taking a little of their health away. We don't want another TT Fury/Ancilot-filled meta.
Inquisitor - Quite familiar to most given that many have piloted the Lance/Griff. It's essentially a mix of both. I've no complains really but I worry that this might set a precedent for laziness, in terms of combining specific bot skills (jump/stealth/shields etc.) WR has always excelled in terms of creativity added with the realism thrown in the mix. The WW bots for instance was excellent thinking (seriously, whoever thought of the gunslingers should get a bonus!) on their part which melded both skillsets/theme of the bots together nicely. I for one would like to see newer skills developed e.g. French foreign legionnaire bots for instance - added musket-like weapon that fires upon cooldown, or something...whatever, anything! No swords though please!
Conclusion: Again, diversity seems to be the key to dispelling complaints and they're doing quite well moving forward but really, newer skills and creativity are needed. Do a poll on FB or something. The recent competition canvassing for ideas to increase their battle database was generous of them, nothing I expected and pleasantly surprised.
mijapi300 : We had a history you and I, from way back. This doesn't come easily from me but one is gratified we're on the same page now. Cheers bud!
blastronaut : We meet again brother.
